POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE (PGDEMS)

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE:

Preservation of the life of the citizen is the solemn duty of any government & provision of effective emergency services is an integral part of this constitutional obligation. Now, this is the need of time that every health professional should be trained in EMS. There is a need for rapid evaluation of victims because the time wasted costs lives. The first "golden hour" is crucial to both the short & long-term survival of the patient. It also is critical in determining the morbidity that the patent will endure, Without proper pre-hospital care, seriously ill or injured patients or patients cannot reach the hospital in a condition that is stable enough for early medical or surgical intervention which is necessary for the survival. The curriculum of the PGDEM has included all the protocols of the EMS & also will teach all the skills which are helpful to survive the life of the victim.

DURATION : One Year + 6 month Internship (Yearly pattern Exam)

ELIGIBILITY : MBBS / BAMS/BDS/ BHMS / BUMS/ BNYS .

ADMISSION PROCEDURE: Admission would be given Once in the year i.e. June.
